Point Eight Power provides needed solution to client, Williams Gas Pipes / Transco, with UL Field Evaluation Certification
BELLE CHASSE, LA, November 1, 2006 — Point Eight Power Inc., a manufacturer of industrial switchgear recently helped client, Williams Gas Pipes / Transco, when they came to Point Eight Power to build a switchboard that needed to be UL, Underwriters Laboratories, labeled.
The challenge was that some components that were to be supplied to interface with remote devices did not meet UL's requirements. In addition, Williams Gas requires UL labeling on all of their products to ensure the products meet their high quality and safety standards. Point Eight utilized a service called UL Field Evaluation Certification to overcome the issue. UL Field Evaluations bridge the gap between uncertified equipment and a code-compliant installation.
This solution allowes businesses with uncertified equipment to have the equipment evaluated and certified. Clients can feel confident that they can safely operate their newly installed equipment and that it meets all required regulations.
Point Eight Power recently completed this process for a Williams Gas Pipes / Transco project and delivered a UL labeled product as required by the client.
