Project Brief / Canyon Station

A one-story, offshore building housing electrical switchgear and controls.

Looking at the whole picture.
After being asked to bid the job as a one-story Power Control and Distribution (PCD) building and associated electrical systems, Point Eight's creative staff saw a way to produce a substantial savings for the client by proposing an all-encompassing solution for the client's need.
The plans told the story. Williams Energy Services needed provisions to house the electrical system and the personnel who would staff the operations at the Canyon Station platform in the Gulf of Mexico.
The initial plans had Williams adding additional modules to the single-story building once it was completed. First, a second-story living quarters and then a third-level helicopter deck. Due to the inevitable coordination problems and project-management inconsistencies that would be encountered using three separate vendors, Point Eight Power suggested that Williams build one module, requiring only one lift and one project manager as the single-source of contact.
Williams took the advice, saving money in project management, coordination, production and fabrication, as well as ease of installation.
To provide a true turnkey package for the platform's electrical system, Point Eight coordinated with its sister company, Reagan Equipment Company, which supplied the engines, generators and associated enclosures that would provide the operational power required.
Point Eight Power is a total partner, looking for the best and most cost-effective solution for the total project.
